The CASH Database

The database is the hub of the CASH service. The content can be added, searched and exported to create personalised alerting services for library customers.  There are a number of newsfeeds that can be embedded into external CAS website pages keeping them constantly updated with the latest content.

To search for a specific item enter a keyword that may appear in either the title or summary.

Database entry is very quick and easy, see the Database Quick Guide for further support.

Search Tips

  • Search for the first three words in the title e.g. "Five year forward" will find everything about the Five Year Forward View
  • Browse a category from the drop-down list to see the latest news on that topic

  • Enter a keyword to narrow your search e.g. Category Mental Health and Keyword Parity

Abstract
Healthcare-associated BSIs (HA-BSIs) have a significant burden on the healthcare system and are largely associated with increased risk of patient morbidity and mortality.  Most HA-BSIs are preventable through basic infection prevention and control practices. To commit to reducing the issue of HA-BSIs, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care  released the new 'Management of PIVCs Clinical Care Standard' in 2021. The Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) Infection Prevention and Control Team identified gaps in meeting the new Standard, which included a lack of evidence that inpatients were receiving information about caring for their PIVC, an increase in hospital acquired BSIs in the medical and surgical wards, and poor compliance with routine PIVC documentation. [...]education sessions for staff and patients were provided sporadically and ward pressures limited staff ability to attend services.
